What Does THC Free Mean?

on

The cannabis industry continues to surprise and delight the world with its unique cannabinoid pairings and product types. There are currently over a hundred known cannabinoids, and we’re seeing more hemp-infused products emerge with each passing day. The two most famous cannabinoids are ones you may already be familiar with: CBD and THC. Today’s article features a unique product unlike anything you’ve seen in the marketplace today: THC-Free Gummies! What that means and how it’s possible will be elaborated on in just a few short paragraphs! But before we get into that, let’s take a closer look at exactly what the CBD and THC cannabinoids are and why THC-free gummies are so important.

What Are Cannabinoids?

The term “cannabinoids” refers to the specific compounds found in the cannabis plant, hence their name. Cannabinoids can be either psychoactive or non-psychoactive, and are found in both the hemp and marijuana plant. While cannabis has been erroneously considered to be just another name for weed, it is actually the mother plant of both hemp and marijuana. For centuries, hemp was dubbed “fake weed” as it doesn’t get the user high. Hemp has been used in clothing, rope, and various other purposes. It wasn’t until recently that hemp-derived cannabinoids became popular as a homeopathic means to cope with various mental and physical ailments.

What Is THC?

THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant that is responsible for getting the user high. It is found in great abundance in the marijuana plant and has earned a somewhat sordid reputation throughout the years due to its debilitating high and mind-altering effects. While marijuana continues to undergo a massive rebranding and is gaining much appreciation in both medicinal and recreational use, there are still many users who remain wary of its intoxicating effects. Hemp-derived cannabinoids may contain trace amounts of THC, but are considered federally legal provided that they contain 0.3% THC or less.

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol, CBD for short, is the most abundant cannabinoid found naturally in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids are the compounds derived from the cannabis plant, either naturally or synthetically. You’ll remember from a previous article called What's The Difference Between Cannabis, Marijuana, & Hemp? that cannabis is the mother plant of both marijuana and hemp; the difference between the two lies in the total THC content. By law, hemp must contain 0.3% THC or less, while marijuana contains substantially more. When derived from hemp, CBD is considered federally legal and does not contain any psychoactive effects.

CBD Types

CBD comes in three forms: Full-spectrum, broad spectrum, or isolate. Full spectrum contains all the naturally occurring compounds of the hemp plant, including terpenes and various other cannabinoids. While the majority of these cannabinoids are non-psychoactive like CBN and CBG, it does contain a very low amount of THC (no more than 0.3%). This allows for the "full" benefits of the plant to be absorbed by the body and used as needed. Broad spectrum takes this a step further by removing as much of the THC, terpenes, and other cannabinoids as possible for a "broad" effect that the body still benefits. It's possible that there will still be trace amounts of THC remaining within broad spectrum CBD products, but is considered a safer alternative to full-spectrum. Isolate is the third and final form, and contains 100% pure CBD; no terpenes, THC, or other cannabinoids will be found in this particular form.

Why Would Someone Need THC-Free Products?

Many individuals are unable or fearful to partake in CBD products for a plethora of reasons. As the body metabolizes the cannabinoid-infused product of choice, the THC is processed into something called metabolites, where the THC is store until it can be officially expunged

from the body. Drug testing specifically tests for the presence of THC metabolites but are unable to discern where the THC came from. This poses a problem and a very real possibility of failing a drug test, even if the product consumed contained the federally legal amount of THC, Since it's impossible to guarantee that you'll pass a drug test regardless if you've consumed even legal amounts of THC or from legal cannabinoids, many people staunchly refuse to jeopardize their livelihood by consuming any form of CBD whatsoever.

THC Free: A New Option

Here at TWoHawk Extracts, we decided to solve a very real problem by creating a never-before-seen product called THC Free Gummies. These gummies cater to those who cannot (or will not) consume THC but still wish to reap the benefits of CBD. Our ability to manufacture our products directly from seed-to-sale means that we can control the entire process of planting, growing, harvesting, extraction, and manufacturing. Since we've eliminated any outside sourcing, we can control the cost of raw materials and manufacturing. This in turn allows us to offer premium products at affordable pricing as well as sample sizes for the new and cautious consumers.

Our transparency and traceability from beginning to end is unmatched and we take great pride knowing that our products are both pure and potent. But don't take our word for it! To confirm our claims match our product, these gummies (and everything else on the site) have been sent out to independent third-party labs for rigorous testing. These tests test for pesticides, solvents, heavy metals, and other toxins that would be unfit for human consumption. You can view the results of these tests on any product page or by scanning the QR code stamped on the product's packaging.

Who Should Consume THC Free Gummies?

Individuals who wish to avoid consuming THC are more widespread than you might think. While the majority of CBD consumers aren't bothered by the trace amounts Of THC, there are many who simply cannot (or will not) consume the non-psychoactive cannabinoid. While the federal legalization of both medicinal and recreational marijuana use is becoming increasingly popular throughout the country, many states have their own legislature regarding its legality. Let's take a look at why some individuals will deliberately avoid any products that contain THC.

Employment

You may wish to avoid all hemp products due to employment reasons. Many individuals are concerned about jeopardizing their livelihood as a result of consuming any THC-infused product, particularly full spectrum CBD products. Privately owned companies may have their own written rules about THC consumption, often including instant termination upon a failed drug test. Now with our THC free gummies, you may be able to reap the benefits of CBD in an entirely new way!

Personal Reasons

There are many personal reasons that may cause you to avoid CBD completely. Medication and health-related issues are two big ones, and should always be discussed with your primary care physician. Those who regularly consume alcohol may wish to refrain from using any THC products to avoid even the slight possibility of crossfading (insert link). Those will small children, underage adults, and/or pets may fear

accidental ingestion, thus prompting the deliberate refusal to even keep CBD products in the house. THC free gummies may be the answer to some of these issues, as it offers a safer alternative to the traditional CBD products on the market.

Sensitivity

You may have had a bad experience with THC, such as ingesting several pot brownies without realizing or taking too many gummies in a single sitting. After being scarred by THC, it's difficult to trust the hemp plant at all and much easier to write off both cannabinoids as being dangerous and overwhelming. if you're wary of

consuming a CBD product that most likely has trace amounts of THC, these THC-free gummies can help you in ways you never thought possible. CBD is known to be effective as a sleep aid, an energizer, a mood stabilizer, and much more.
